Step 1: Initial Inspection at Rug Drop Off or Pick Up

We will measure as well as pre-inspect your rug. Our technician will give you a rug estimate. Once you review and approve the quote, the rug cleaning begins in our state-of-the-art rug cleaning facility conveniently located in downtown Tulsa.

Step 2: Follow Up Detailed Rug Inspection

Once the rug is in our rug cleaning facility, a rug technician re-measures and thoroughly inspects your rug a second time. This inspection will determine its fiber, construction, and  special needs. They will also determine the best cleaning method, cleaning products, and drying time needed. During this step, the technician also determines crucial information about the rug’s pre-existing condition and documents any rug damage, such as:

  • Dry and wet rot
  • Mold and mildew
  • Dye stains, color bleeding, discoloration, and browning
  • Rug Stains
  • Fading
  • Worn and rotten fringes
  • Pet Odors and waste, such as pet urine, feces, and vomit

Step 3: Dusting

Before washing your area rug, we put it in a large duster. This slow moving duster tumbles the rug, knocking out loose dirt and dust. It is a gentle, yet highly effective way to remove literally pounds of dust, dirt, and small particles from the rug, which is impossible to remove with a standard vacuum cleaner.

Step 4: Immersion Rug Wash and Rinse

After dusting, the rug is put into our full immersion washing machine. This huge machine uses a gentle, color-safe rug shampoo. Once in the machine, the rug is slowly turned with the gentle water current. When the cycle is finished, the rug is removed to the wash floor, where it is rinsed and given any extra care necessary. Here we are able to further treat any preexisting concerns.

Step 5: Centrifugal Water Removal

Now the rug gets rolled up, and put into the huge, rug centrifuge. This machine spins at very high speeds in order to spin out as much of the water as possible, much like the spin cycle of your home washing machine. This step also allows for extra rinsing! The rug is spun in multiple cycles to allow us to rinse until the water runs clear, and then spin as much water out as possible.

Step 6: Fresh Air Rug Drying

Once clean, we air dry each rug for a natural and gentle drying. Some rugs are hung to dry, while other rugs are dried flat. We determine the best drying method for your rug based on your rug type. No matter the method, all rugs are dried in our drying room. This room is temperature controlled with heaters and fans, and also has dehumidifiers to get your rug completely dry.

Step 7: Rug Combing, Brushing, and Fluffing

As the rug dries, we use combing and brushing or pile-fluffing techniques for the best results to deliver a luxuriously soft rug to you.

Step 8: Rug Fringe Cleaning and Grooming

Once the rug is dry, we groom the fringes. They are hand combed for the final touch to a beautifully clean, fresh, vibrant and restored rug.

Step 9: Post Cleaning Vacuuming and Inspection

When the rug cleaning, repair, and restoration process is complete, we vacuum the rug again, and do one final inspection to make sure the rug cleaning results satisfy our high standards.

Step 10: Optional Rug Fiber Protector, Insect Repellent & Rug Pad Services

At your request, as an optional service, we can apply moth deterrent, and fiber protector to prevent your rug from future staining. We also offer non-skid rug pads to prolong the life and beauty of your fine area rug. We can deliver and install a quality rug pad, custom-sized and selected especially for your rug. For either hard floor surfaces or carpeted areas, a rug pad is a sound investment that will protect and extend the life of your rug. We customize the size and thickness of the pad to reduce friction between the floor surface and the rug. The rug pad will keep the rug in place, provide safety by reducing slipping, and provide an added layer of sound absorption. We also offer wrapping for storage.
